Volgograd Central Concert Hall was opened in 1989 in the picturesque place on Volgaðs embankment, in the building of new River port, which was built by the project of St-Petersburg's architectures.

Central Concert Hall it's modern, comfortable concert stage with the hall seating 1000. At the same time it is big concert organization of philharmonic type, which is concerned with realization in Volgograd of performances of the leading music and theatre groups and soloists of Russia and foreign countries.

On the stage of Volgograd Central Concert Hall performed such famous collectives as State Academic choir cappella, named after A.A.Iourlov, choir of boys of Moscow choir school, named after A.V.Sveshnikov, Orchestra of Russian folk instruments, named after N.Osipov, Bolshoi Philharmonic Orchestra named after P.Tchaikovsky, ensemble of ancient music "Madrigal", theatre "Russian ballet" under leadership of V.Gordeyev, theatre of ballet under leadership of Boris Eiphman from St.-Petersburg and many others. The guests of Central Concert Hall were musicians from Germany, Austria, Italy, Holland, USA, Australia, Finland, France and from countries of ex-USSR. On the stage of Central Concert Hall are constantly holding concerts of Philharmonic, organ, chamber and choir music. At the same time conditions of the Hall make it possible to perform music and drama performances. On the stage of Central Concert Hall were performances of MHAT named after Tchekhov, Theatre on Taganka, theatre "Lenkon", Roman Viktiuk's theatre and so on. In the building of Central Concert Hall is constantly working Volgograd opera-collective, which performs here different opera performances. Central Concert Hall is the place of holding of traditional International spring festival "Jazz handshake", here as well perform final concerts of music competitions, different ceremonial and variety concerts.
